Westfield Area Y Flyers Compete at USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Championships and AAU Junior Olympics Games
Nine athletes from the Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club recently competed at the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Championships in Greensboro, NC. Five athletes placed in the top 20 across the nation in their respective event. Athletes finishing in the top 8 were named All-Americans.
Gabriel Costa - 11-12 Boys High Jump
Lucas Costa - 9-10 Boys High Jump and Javelin Throw
Millen Dhiman - 7-8 Boys Javelin Throw (6th Place) and Shot Put (15th Place)
Grace Endy - 15-16 Girls 3000m Race Walk (1st Place- National Champion)
Jackson Folvik - 7-8 Boys Javelin Throw
Grace Gloster - 9-10 Girls 200m Dash
Elizabeth Koizumi - 11-12 Girls 1500m Race Walk (16th Place)
Paul Koizumi - 15-16 Boys 3000m Race Walk (6th Place)
Jasmine Parran - 7-8 Girls 1500m Run (11th Place)
Alexandra Bonn competed in five events at the AAU Junior Olympics at Drake University in Des Moines, IA.
Alexandra Bonn – 13-year-old Girls Pentathlon (4th Place), Triple Jump (7th Place), High Jump (7th Place), 200m Hurdles (9th Place), Long Jump (18th Place)
The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF-certified club with USATF-certified coaches that serves over 700 athletes throughout the year. The Club has fall cross country, winter conditioning, andspring and summer track & field programs in Westfield and Cranford. Registration for fall cross country is open.
