Flyers Cross Country Season Off to a Great Start

Athletes from the Westfield Competitive and the Cranford Middle School programs of the Westfield Area Y Flyers competed in two consecutive meets in the Lakeland Youth Series Cross Country Meet at Greystone/Central Park in Morris Plains, NJ.
More than 25 Flyers competed with over 500 athletes ages 7 to 14 from around New Jersey on Oct. 1 and 8. The 11- to 12-year old boys team won their age division in both meets. The Flyers are scheduled to compete at two more Lakeland Cross Country meets this season before heading to the USATF New Jersey Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships at Deer Path Park in Flemington, NJ on Nov. 5.
The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that serves over 700 athletes throughout the year. The club has cross country, winter conditioning, spring and summer track & field programs in Westfield and Cranford.
