Flyers Capture 5 Regional Championships, 22 Athletes Qualify for National Championships

Thirty athletes from the Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club were among the more than 1,500 athletes that competed at the Regional Junior Olympics July 6th-9th in Brockport, New York. Four Flyers captured five Regional Championships and twenty-two Flyers qualified to advance to the National Junior Olympics. The National Junior Olympics will be held July 24-30 in Lawrence, Kansas.

Alexandra Bonn -  Girls 11-12 Division – Pentathlon and Long Jump

Grace Endy – Girls Ages 13-14 Division – 3000m Race Walk

Melissa Endy – Girls 17-18 Division - 3000m Race Walk

Chris Salkowski – Boys 15-16 Division - Javelin

Paul Koizumi – Boys 13-14 Division - 3000m Race Walk

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that has grown to train over 700 athletes in grades 2-8 throughout the year with programs in Westfield and Cranford.
