Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Team Starts the Season

The Flyers Track Club were among the 1,000 athletes that recently participated in the NJ Striders Track meet on April 23 at Hackensack High School. The Flyers had 36 top-10 finishes and set 8 team records.
Below is a listing of all the athletes placed in the top 10 at the April 23 rd meet:
Girl’s Ages 9-10 Division
Mychaela Fields - 2 nd 100m dash and 4 th in 400m dash
Emma Muir - 7 th in 400m dash, 2 nd in long jump and 1 st in turbo javelin
Girl’s Ages 11-12 Division
Elizabeth Koizumi – 2 nd 1500m race walk
Girls’ 13-14 Division
Grace Endy – 1 st 1500m race walk
Olivia Muir – 10 th shotput and 9 th in discus
Julia Skultety – 4 th long jump
Sophie Vastine – 10 th 100m dash
Margaret Zhu – 4 th 1500m run
Boys 8 and Under Division
Matthew Sanchez – 10 th 100m dash, 3 rd long jump and 2 nd shot put
Boys’ Ages 9-10 Division
Jack Fallon – 6 th 100m dash
Jacob Liss – 8 th 1500m run and 6 th in turbo javelin
Aidan McKeon – 10 th 1500m run
Boys’ Ages 11-12 Division
Eamon Mason – 1 st 1500m run
Orlando Guzman Jr – 2 nd 400m dash, 3 rd 1500m run and 7 th turbo javelin
Justin Koizumi - 5 th shot put and 6 th discus
David Sanchez – 8 th long jump
Damian Scouloukas – 6 th 100m dash, 9 th shot put and 2 nd 80m hurdles
Boys’ 13-14 Division
Matthew Ackerman – 7 th turbo javelin
Paul Koizumi - 2 nd 1500m race walk
Braden Stryker – 2 nd shot put and 2 nd discus
Boys’ 15-16 Division
Liam Robb – 4 th 400m dash and 1 st 1500m run
