Westfield Y Flyers capture 9 Regional Championships/22 athletes qualify for National Championships
Thirty-seven athletes from the Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club were among the more than 1,500 athletes that competed at the Regional Junior Olympics July 7-10th in Chester, Pennsylvania. Seven Flyers captured nine Regional Championships and twenty-two Flyers qualified to advance to the National Junior Olympics. The National Junior Olympics will be held July 25th- July 31st, 2016 in Sacramento, California.
Athletes that won Regional Championships include:
Girls 8 and Under Division - Mychaela Fields – 100m Dash, 200m Dash, 400m Dash
Girls Ages 9-10 Division - Emma Muir – High Jump
Girls 11-12 Division - Alexandra Bonn – 80m Hurdles
Girls Ages 13-14 Division - Grace Endy – 3000m Race Walk
Boys 13-14 Division - Paul Koizumi – 3000m Race Walk; Jeremy Kronheimer – Javelin
Girls 15-16 Divison - Nicole Massa - Discus
The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF certified club that has grown to train over 800 athletes in grades 2-8 throughout the year with programs in Westfield and Cranford. They offer two levels of participation - developmental and competitive.
The Flyer's Track club is dedicated to healthy competition, teamwork and individual development.
