The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club Starts the Season

 

The Flyers Track Club’s athletes were among the 1000 athletes who recently participated in the NJ Striders Track & Field meet on April 17 at Saddle Brook High School.

 

The Flyers had 18 top-10 finishes and set 2 team records.  Below is a listing of all the athletes placed in the top 10 at the April 17 meet:

 

Girl’s Ages 9-10 Division:

•   Emma Muir placed 1^st in turbo javelin.

•   Emma Muir placed 3^rd and set a team record in shot put.

•   Elizabeth Koizumi finished 1^st in 800m race walk.

 

Girl’s Ages 11-12 Division:

•    Abigail Granrath finished 5^th in the 800m run.

 

Girls’ 13-14 Division

•   Allie Zimmerman placed 7^th in shot put.

 

Girls’ Ages 15-16 Division:

•   Grace Bishop finished 4^th in the 200m dash.

•   Grace Bishop finished 4^th in the 800m run.

•   Caitlyn Bishop finished 5^th in the 200m dash.

•   Caitlyn Bishop finished 5^th in the 800m run.

 

Boys’ Ages 9-10 Division:

•   Eamon Mason finished 2^nd and set a team record in the 800m run.

•   David Sanchez placed 2^nd in shot put.

 

Boys’ Ages 11-12 Division:

•   Justin Koizumi placed 6^th in shot put.

•   Damian Scouloukas placed 10^th in shot put.

 

Boys’ 13-14 Division

•   William McGlynn finished 4^th in the 800m run.

•   David Bartley placed 10^th in long jump.

•   Paul Koizumi finished 1^st in the 800m race walk.

 

Boys’ 15-16 Division

•   Bradley Jelmert finished 7^th in the 200m dash.

•   Bradley Jelmert placed 2^nd in long jump.
